Stadium Signs - 4/17/08 - The Stadium Sign Sale will be kicking off soon.  Renewal Signs – Monday, April 21st, New Signs – May 1st.  Any renewal sign that does not have a contact card signed and returned to the committee by May 31st will be “up-for-grabs” on June 2nd.  The final deadline for the stadium sale is June 30, 2008.

The Sign Policy had some minor tweaking this year.  It has been sent out via e-mail; it is in the 9th grade Stadium Sign renewal packages and it is also available on the website.  Please read it carefully.  “I didn’t know” will not be an excuse for not following the rules.  The Sign Committee has also developed a Stadium Sign Sale 101.  We hope it helps, but if at any time you want or feel you need help with selling signs, please let us know and we will get someone to work with you.

All signed contact cards should be mailed to Wando Band Boosters, Sign Committee, P.O. Box 927, Mt. Pleasant, SC  29465.  Please do not put any contact cards (or any sign forms) in the safe or give them to Mr. Rush or Mr. McGrew or Ms. Radecke. 

If you have a renewal sign, you have from Mid-April to May 31st to contact those businesses and get a contact card signed and sent in.  Do not wait until the last minute – it is not fair to the businesses that have supported us in the past to get a less desirable placement on the field because you waited until the last minute to go and see them.  If you wait until May 31st to go to your business, you stand an excellent chance of having your sign “stolen”.   The sign policy will be followed in awarding ownership of the sign.

We have space for right around 200 signs.  Whether the deadline has been reached or not, when we receive the paperwork and payment for the 200th sign, the Stadium Sign sale ends.  Don’t wait until the last minute to get out there and sell signs.  Please stress to the businesses you contact that we may sell out this year.  We did last year.

All band and guard members who sell signs are required to work the Sign Workdays.  Please keep in mind that as hurricane season approaches, it may be necessary for signs to be taken down, stored, and re-hung after the danger has passed.

A Note about Stadium Signs - According to the Sign Policy, any renewal sign that does not have a contact card signed and turned in by May 31st will be up-for-grabs on June 2nd. Please, if you are holding a renewal for a sign, get that contact card signed and in so that you can retain the rights to that sign. Please make face-to-face contact with your business. Remember to mail the contact card or the renewal sheet and money to the Wando Band Boosters, P.O. Box 927, Mt. Pleasant 29465.
